On this post I want to show you the beautiful flowers you can create with modeling chocolate, also known as chocolate clay. Modeling chocolate is a mixture of corn syrup and chocolate that produces a flexible clay-like material. It has a similar consistency to marzipan and fondant. It’s like edible play dough!

The photo below is a nice example of a flower cut-out using modeling chocolate. Just roll out the chocolate and cut flower shapes with a cookie cutter. Cake by Robert Hanson.

You don’t have to temper modeling chocolate, and it’s very easy to work with. For more information and how-to make modeling chocolate  see my previous post ” Cake Decorating with Modeling Chocolate”.

The beautiful white chocolate clay blossoms below are from cake decorator Lauren Kitchens. Lauren has two great modeling chocolate courses on Craftsy.com, Intro to Modeling Chocolate”, and  Modeling Chocolate Magic”  . See my course review here. These giant blossoms are so pretty on mini cakes!
